The Raine Group is a global merchant bank focused exclusively on the digital, media & entertainment and sports & lifestyle sectors. The firm was founded by industry veterans Joe Ravitch and Jeff Sine, in partnership with WME Entertainment, the leading talent agency, in 2009. The team includes 60+ professionals across five offices with deep sector-specific relationships and experience, making Raine a trusted advisor and financial partner of choice in our sectors of focus.
- Social media
- Cloud delivery
- Digital content
- Online video
- Online services
- Data and analytics
We believe that the internet taxonomy will continue to change and, ultimately, the vast majority of content will be delivered digitally on multiple devices by any content creator, regardless of size, to local and global audiences. China, India and other emerging markets are the current frontiers. We do business around the world in the entire digital media ecosystem, giving the firm a unique perspective.
Media & Entertainment.
- Intellectual property
- Live events
- Interactive entertainment
- Branded entertainment
- Over-the-top television
The disruption of traditional distribution channels and advertising has created tremendous opportunity on a global basis. The new media equation has placed an emphasis on quality content and has enhanced the value of upstream content creation and ownership to exploit a multi-platform world. Live entertainment remains a valuable monetization engine and the sector has traditionally done little to monetize its online and social networking capabilities. These trends present significant opportunities for our firm.
Sports & Lifestyle.
- Fitness and wellness
- Leagues and associations
- Sports media
- Information and analytics
- Youth athletics
- Marketing and management
- Consumer engagement
- IP monetization
Sports are powerfully engaging – it is a global industry that transcends culture and language. It is the world's strongest consumer engagement platform and is one of the last bastions of must-have "live" content. The power of sports content puts it at the intersection of every trend in digital media and entertainment and our unique relationships and access in sports puts Raine in the center of a global conversation.
- Focused. Exclusive focus on digital, media & entertainment, sports & lifestyle.
- Connected. Deep relationships with key decision makers.
- Integrated. Combined investing and advising model enhances both platforms.
- Global. Worldwide reach in key growth regions.
